Tools for the road

Music is like medicine, what you listen to can greatly affect how you feel and your outlook on life. I encourage you to listen to songs that remind you how beautiful life is and keep you motivated. We’re all unique so songs that inspire us may be very different, but here are a few songs that have inspired me throughout the years. If you have any suggestions, I’d love to discover new music! These songs are in no particular order.

Music that uplifts me

6 things to-do to clear your mind Mostly free:

  • Spending time in nature. It can be the beach, a park, the woods, etc.

  • Journaling. Write your thoughts down and let your emotions flow. We tend to open up more freely when we know it’s only for us. I find that after writing I feel so much lighter.

  • Going on a drive with a good playlist- I know gas prices are high right now, that’s why I said MOSTLY free!

  • Visiting local museums, galleries, or art pop ups.

  • Going to a church service or event.

  • Painting, drawing, or coloring.

Things I did while in isolation to not feel alone:

  • Go to a local coffee shop and sit for a while.

  • Walk through the city.

  • Go to the beach, sit with the ocean, walk the boardwalk, and be present in the moment.

  • Make a list of all the things I’m grateful for.

  • PRAYER, talk to God. Just talk.

  • Keeping busy and planning a designated time to relax in a way I enjoy.

  • Better myself, physically, mentally or both.
